The RV market is evolving rapidly, with campervans becoming a new hot trend. New energy vehicles and technological upgrades are propelling the industry forward, leading to both expansion and market segmentation in the domestic market.


Market Size and Structure


The domestic market is primarily composed of "campervans + motorhomes," with campervans priced under 200,000 yuan being the most popular: over 1,000 units sold the year before last, over 4,000 units last year, and an estimated over 6,000 units by 2025. In 2024, there were a total of 245,800 RVs, but the penetration rate was less than 0.1%. In contrast, in the US, towable RVs account for 90%, with 190,700 units sold in the first half of 2025, and 46% purchased by people aged 35 to 54.


Growth Trends

The total market size in 2024 was 108.49 billion yuan, a 7.9% increase from the previous year; in the first half of 2025, 3,308 campervans were sold, a sharp increase of 160% year-on-year, and 855 new energy RVs were registered, an increase of 577%. People now prefer lightweight motorhomes that don't require going to campsites. Young families and off-road enthusiasts are the main buyers, while solo camping (31%) and traveling with pets are also becoming more common.
